Any Road Will Take You There : Chapter 3
Sugar slowly started to wake up. She had a major throbbing pain in her head. She looked around the time machine and saw that Rory and Harmony were passed out next to her. They all have traveled back in time before but never this far. It really took it out of them. Sugar nudged Rory to wake him.
“Aye me head!” Rory groaned, rubbing his throbbing head.
“Wake Harmony up!”
“No way! You wake her!
“Please..” Sugar gave him the puppy eyes.
“Alright, alright!”
Rory slowly walked over to where Harmony was passed out on the floor. He felt like he walking into the lion’s den. He bent down and shook Harmony trying to wake her up. Harmony quickly woke up and slapped Rory in the face.
“Ow! What was that for?”
“You scared me!” Harmony growled.
Sugar was on the floor laughing behind them. Rory smiled seeing Sugar smile.
“I’m glad you enjoy me pain!” Rory chuckled rubbing his cheek.
“Did it work, Are we here?”
The three ran to the window and looked out. The were in the middle of a field next to a sign that said ”Coming Soon - Lima Heights Development”
“It did! According to the GPS, this is the spot where our garage would be! It also says that Sebastian is further in town, at McKinley High School!”
“Well then, grab your things and lets go!” Harmony said, things in hand, already out the door.
“Wait Har! We need a plan! How are we gonna hide this thing?”
“We’ll worry about that later!” Rory said. His only concern right now was saving his dads.
The trio walked to towards town and checked into a hotel.
“Let’s go guys! We need to find Sebastian!” Rory was getting very impatient. The longer they waited, the more time Sebastian had to ruin his life.
“My labtop says he’s at the old Lima Bean Coffee Shop right now!” Harmony said.
“That’s only a few miles from here! We have to catch him before he leaves!”
Rory ran out the door and Harmony and Sugar hurried after him. The three of them walked into the Lima Bean very shocked at how their old dump of a hang out looked back in the day. Sugar turned to Rory who was standing there in shock.
“Rory, what is it?” Sugar said shaking him back and forth.
Rory couldn’t find the words and just pointed towards a table. Harmony and Sugar looked over to see Sebastian sitting across at a table holding hands with one of Rory’s fathers, Blaine.
“I think I’m going to be sick..” Rory moaned. Then he started to march over to the table but was grabbed by his friends before he could do anything.
“Wait you can’t talk to them! You could mess up the time stream even more!”
“I don’t care, let me go! I’m gonna strangle him!” Rory struggled to get free but then calmed himself.
Sebastian looked up from his table to see the trio fighting with each other. A big smile grew his face.
“What is it?” Blaine asked.
“Nothing! I have to go though. I’ll see you later and remember, you don’t need Kurt bringing you down!”
Blaine nodded.
Sebastian quietly slipped out the back door while the the three of them were still distracted.
“Wait, where did he go?” said Harmony.
“We have to go talk to my dad guys!”
“Fine but not you! Who know what could happen? I’ll go!”
Sugar walked over to Blaine and sat down across from him.
“Hi!”
“Hello..” Blaine said, very confused to who this stanger was.
“I’m Sugar Pier..Motta! What were you talking to Sebastian about?”
“That’s kind of personal…”
“Is it about your boyfriend Kurt?”
“How do you know my boyfriend’s name, or that I’m gay for that matter?”
“The bow-tie pretty much gives it away!”
Blaine looked hurt.
“Sorry aspergers!”
“I gotta go!”
“Wait! I’m a friend of Kurt’s. He asked me to ask you!”
“We’ll Kurt and I are kind of on a break right now!”
“WHAT? WHY?” Sugar screamed. Rory and Harmony were sitting at the table next to them and heard the whole thing. Rory started to tear up.
“What did Sebastian tell you? He’s a liar, you can’t trust him!” Sugar said.
“Sebastian has been helping me through this tough time!”
“I bet..” Harmony whispered.
“Look I really gotta go but it was..uh..interesting meeting you Sugar!”
“Wait!” Sugar pleaded but Blaine was already out the door.
Later at the hotel..
“We have to get into that school! We can’t just wait until they leave everyday and follow them around!” said Sugar.
“Well then we’ll have to enroll! You and Rory will go to McKinley and figure out what’s up with Rory’s dads, I’ll keep an eye on Sebastian.”
“He had a uniform on, which means he doesn’t go the McKinley!”
“It was a Dalton Academy uniform..” Rory said, speaking for the first time sense they left the Lima Bean.
”..My dad used to go to school there before he transferred to McKinley to be with my other dad. They tell me about it all the time. I’ve seen pictures of my dad in the uniform, it looked just like the one Sebastian was wearing..”
Sugar’s heart broke. She ran over and hugged Rory.
“We’ll fix this Rory, don’t worry! He would have transferred schools if he was really done with Kurt! He still loves him, Sebastian is just messing with their heads.”
“Why would he do that?” Rory said.
“I don’t know but come Monday, we’re gonna find out!”
The three of them finally went to bed that night, exhausted from their long journey but Rory couldn’t sleep. He didn’t tell his friends this but he had been feeling sick all day. He could feel himself slipping away. Sugar woke up and saw Rory staring the ceiling. She got up trying not to wake Harmony and walked over to Rory’s bed.
“Can’t sleep?” Sugar whispered.
Rory shook his head. Sugar climbed into his bed and held Rory close. Rory was a little surprised but just held her tight too. He tried his best not to cry in front of her.
“Thanks Sugs.” Rory whispered.
“This is all my fault..” she said starting to tear up.
“No, you had no clue what he was going to do with the time machine. I would never blame you for any of this!”
“Shhh!” Harmony growled at them.
Rory and Sugar looked at each other and smiled. She looked over at the two and wondered what Sugar was doing in Rory’s bed but at 2:30 in the morning she really didn’t care.
“So I guess we should start thinking of what our names are go-“ Sugar stopped talking when she saw that Rory had finally fallen asleep. Sugar smiled and went to go back to her own bed but before she got up she kissed Rory on the forehead. She climbed back into her own bed where Harmony mumbled something insulting at her but she was to tired to listen. Rory looked over at Sugar and smiled.
He was a light sleeper.

Any Road Will Take You There: Chapter 2
It’s my fault
These words kept playing over and over in Sugar’s head. Rory was silent. He just kept staring out the window. Harmony was rubbing his back trying to comfort him. She looked over at Sugar with a worried look on her face. Finally Rory spoke.
“We have to tell your Moms, they can tell Sebastian to fix this!”
“No way! I lent him the keys to the time machine; I’ll be in huge trouble. My mother will beat me with a chair..” It didn’t take much thinking to know which one of her mothers she was referring to. Rory wasn’t convinced.
“I’m sorry Sugs but I have to tell your mother!”
“Tell me what?” Mama Santana walked into the room with Mama Brittany on her arm and her left eyebrow raised, looking down at the plotting group of youngsters. Rory gave the girls an apologetic look.
“Mame, I don’t know how to tell you this but Sebastian..”
“I lent Sebastian the time machine.”
“Sugar! Cuando vas a aprender? I figured that, I haven’t heard from him in a week! You better hope he gets back soon and it’s undamaged, along with whatever time he’s in!”
“Are you sure that’s all Rory?” Mama Brittany said with a concerned tone and put her hand on his shoulder.
Rory face turned bright red.
“Yes M-Mame!”
Rory has always found Sugar’s mother very attractive.
They both left the room, Mama Santana mumbling something under her breath in Spanish. Rory glared over at Sugar.
“I CAN FIX THIS! I PROMISE!”
“How Sugar?” Rory said hoping she had a plan.
“I have no clue. In fact I probably can’t..” Rory looked annoyed
“Sorry aspergers!”
Harmony rolled her eyes and dialed a number on her phone.
“Who are you..” Harmony shushed Sugar before she could finish. She put the phone on speaker.
“Hello?”
“Uncle Finn? It’s Harmony!”
“Hi baby girl, how are ya?”
Harmony was very close with her uncle. After all he is the reason she’s here right now. After Rachel and Quinn got married, they wanted nothing more then to have a baby. So naturally they went with a man they both knew very well to help them out and nine months later, out popped Harmony. So when she couldn’t go to her mothers, she always felt comfortable talking with her Uncle Finn. She could always trust him.
“I’m sorry for calling so late but I need to borrow something of yours.”
“Oh? And what would that be?” he chuckled to himself.
“I need to borrow your time machine”
“I don’t see why not!” Harmony was a little surprised how easy that was. Then again, Uncle Finn was always a little oblivious.
“Great, I’ll be over soon!”
She hung up the phone and a big smile appeared on Harmony’s face.
“What’s your plan?” Rory asked looking for some gleam of hope for his dads.
“If Sebastian isn’t coming back any time soon, we’ll just have to go and find him!”
Rory and Sugar looked uneasy.
“I don’t think that such a good ide-“
“Do you want to help your dads or not?” Harmony said cutting him off. Sugar and Rory looked at each other very unsure.
Neither of them had ever used a time machine before but they trusted Harmony. She had never let them down. Harmony succeeded at almost everything she did but when you have mothers like she did, it was hard not to be. Rory thought about his dads again, knowing he needed to save them gave him a jolt of courage.
“Let’s do it!”
“Whoa guys! We need a plan!” Sugar was surprised that she was the voice of reason.
“Won’t they notice us if we’re gone?”
“It’s the middle of the night! Don’t be such a girl!” Harmony was getting impatient and started packing her things together.
“But we don’t even know where he is!”
“I got that covered!” Sugar said already heading towards the garage.
“Mama makes us log in where we go before we leave, just in case something goes wrong!” Sugar clicked on the time machine log but got a big red exclamation mark on the screen.
“Crap! He put a password on his last log!”
“Oh Boy, this could take a while.” Rory said and went to sit on the garage stairs. Sugar could tell he was losing hope. She put in a bunch of Sebastian’s usual passwords but nothing worked.
“Ugh! This shouldn’t be that hard!” Harmony pushed her out the way and tried a few passwords herself. Sugar went over to sit next to Rory and wrapped her arms around him. She got her understanding and compassion for others from Brittany.
“I’m so scared Sugar, scared that I’ll never talk to them again.”
“We’re gonna save them!”
“You didn’t see them drop to the ground, watching the light leave their eyes was one of the most horrible things I have ever seen in my life, they’re all I have.”
This was true. Rory was adopted by Blaine and Kurt when he was two. The two lovers traveled to Ireland for their honey moon, much to Kurt’s chagrin but they never thought the sovereign they’d be bringing home would be a baby boy. Blaine had family in Ireland, his great grandmother ran an adoption agency there. A couple days out of the two weeks they were staying there, he helped out with the children. Blaine loved working with children and while he was there he bonded with every single one of them. Rory was different though. Rory’s parents were both alcoholics, so Rory was taken from them a few months after he born. Blaine had no idea he would fall in love with this lovely blue-eyed little boy. Kurt was convinced too, he could see the look in Blaine’s eyes when he hugged Rory goodbye everyday! He knew what he had to do. The last day of their trip Kurt bought three tickets home. Blaine, thinking this was a mistake, went to go refund a ticket but Kurt told him they were bringing someone extra home with them. Blaine’s eyes lit up and they both started crying tears of joy. From that day on Blaine and Kurt were Rory’s whole world, his family. He couldn’t just let them slip away.
“THIS IS HOPELESS!” Harmony screamed as she attempted her hundredth password.
“Well since the whole world revolves around you Harmony, why don’t you try your name?” Rory chuckled to himself.
Sugar laughed and typed in H-A-R-M-O-N-Y. The screen lit up.
- PASSWORD ACCEPTED -
Sugar and Rory stared in disbelief, while Harmony’s cheeks turned bright red. Sugar started to giggle.
“He did always like you Har-“
“Shut up! Just find out the date and let’s go!”
Sugar winked at her and looked through the log to where Sebastian went. She scrolled to today’s logs.
- November 29, 2011 -
“2011? That’s when our parents were in high school!” Sugar said with worry in his voice.
“We need to get there quick!” Harmony said rushing out the garage door. Sugar grabbed a pen and wrote down the date.
“Let’s go!”
The trio grabbed their things and hurried out the door. Luckily, Rory had recently got his license. They piled in the little green station wagon and headed to Uncle Finn’s house. There was a silence among the group on the way there. Harmony was filing her nails and Sugar was rocking back and forth, singing to herself. Rory, however, was just staring straight at the road with a blank expression. Sugar had never seen Rory so down. She missed seeing that big goofy smile on his face.
An hour later they arrived at the house of Finn Hudson. Harmony knocked on the door trying to be quiet because of how late it was. The door swung open and a Finn stood there with a big smile on his face.
“Hey there beautiful!”
“UNCLE FINN!” Harmony squealed and ran to hug her uncle. He hugged her back and put his finger in front of his mouth, pointing to the master bedroom.
“Oh sorry.” Finn signaled them to come inside and led them to the garage. They all piled in the room and Finn shut the door behind them.
“Sorry, didn’t want to wake the wife.” He walked over to a large object covered by a tarp.
“Rory come help me with this.”
“Sure Uncle Finn!” Rory smiled and walked over to help him pull of the large green tarp. Of course, Finn was Rory’s actual uncle.
They pulled of the tarp revealing a large shiny machine. The kids stared in awe.
“You kids know how to use this right?”
“Well-“
“Of course we do!” Harmony said cutting Rory off.
“We don’t have to tell your moms about this! We’ll just keep this between us! Plus, I owe you for singing at my wedding!” Finn said winking at Harmony.
“Thanks Uncle Finn!” Rory and Harmony said in unison.
“Good luck guys! What do you guys need this for anyway?”
“It’s..uh..a secret” Rory said not being able to look his uncle in the eyes. He had always been a horrible liar.
“Well okay then! Be Safe!” he chuckled to himself and walked inside, closing the door behind him.
Sugar grinned with excitement and threw her things in the time machine but as soon as she saw all the buttons and levers, she started to get nervous.
“How are we ever going to work this thing?”
“Stand back! I got this!” said Harmony as she put the keys in. The machine lit up and Harmony was pushing the buttons like she had done this a million times. Then she punched in the date.

She turned to her friends and winked.
“Ready to go?”
Rory and Sugar looked at each other very worried.
“Yes! Let’s go!” Rory said determined to save his dads.
Harmony smiled and pushed a lever forward and back in time they went. They didn’t have a plan or any clue what was going to happen. All they knew was that Sebastian was there, somewhere, and they needed to stop him from tearing Rory’s world apart.

Any Road Will Take You There: Chapter 1
“Guys, I’m getting really worried..” Sugar said as she checked her watch.
“I’m sure it’s nothing!” Rory said and gave her a reassuring glance.
The trio had been together since they were young. All of them having gay parents was just one of the many things Rory, Harmony, and Sugar had in common. As soon as they could walk their parents put them in a theater play group together and they’ve been friends ever since.
“But it’s been a week since Sebastian took the time machine out for a spin, I didn’t like the smirk on his face when he got in!” Sugar knew that look, it was the Lopez part of his genes kicking in. It was a Lopez smirk.
“Well you gave him the keys..” said Harmony with a know-it-all tone in her voice.
Sugar’s heart sank in her stomach, whatever her brother does will be all her fault.
“One thing’s for sure..we need a new place to hang out.” The whole group shook their head in agreement with Rory’s statement.
Every day after school they would come and hang out at the town’s old coffee shop The Lima Bean. The place was ancient, this was the place their parents used to come and hang out.
“Why don’t we head home guys, Sebastian could be back with the time machine, right now, safe and sound.” said Harmony. Sugar looked up at her and smiled hopefully.
When the group arrived at Sugar’s house she ran in the door, past the kitchen, and to the garage door.
“SUGAR MOTTA PIERCE-LOPEZ, YOU KNOW BETTER THAN TO RUN THROUGH THIS HOUSE! YO PODRIA LANZAR UNA SILLA A USTED!” Mama Santana screamed as she came down the stairs. Harmony and Rory awkwardly followed her to the garage, careful not to make her rage worse.
“Sorry Mama, I need to check something!” Sugar said and opened the garage door, the time machine still wasn’t there. Rory hugged her from behind.
“Don’t worry lass, I’m sure he’ll be back any day now!”
The Next Day..
Mama Brittany was braiding Sugar’s hair when she checked her phone..
12 MISSED CALLS
They were all from Rory. She quickly called Rory up and put him on speaker.
“H-Hello?…” Rory sounded so shaken.
“Rory it’s Sugar! What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
“It’s my dads..they’re both in the hospital..”
Mama Brittany stopped braiding Sugar’s hair, put her hand over her mouth and started tearing up.
“My unicorn..” she said. Sugar sat up and squeezed her mother as tight as she could.
“The worst part is they don’t even know what’s wro..” Rory stopped mid-sentence, Sugar could tell he was crying.
“Rory, who’s with you?”
“No one, I’m all alone at my house. They won’t let me see them until tomorrow.“
“Come stay with us!” Sugar and her mother said in unison. She looked up at her mother and smiled.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, of course!”
“Let me get some stuff together, I’ll be over soon!”
Sugar hung up and cuddled with her Mom. Then her mind went to Sebastian, she prayed that he had nothing to do with this.
Later That Night..
There was a knock at door. Sugar ran down the stairs and swung open the door.
“I got here as soon as I heard!” Harmony marched in the door with a large over night bag in hand.
“H-Harmony?” Sugar was obviously expecting someone else.
“Rory told me what happened and I’m here to help!”
“That’s sweet Harmony but I don’t think my Moms want me to have that many people over, right?” Sugar gave her mom a hinting glance.
“Of course she can stay! Just as long as she doesn’t disturb Lord Tubbington’s slumber” Her mother was never the sharpest tool in the shed. Sugar let out a big sigh.
“I’ll grab some more blankets..”
Harmony smiled big and unpacked her things. Then another knock at the door. Everyone quickly ran to get it. Rory looked like hell. You could tell from his eyes that he had crying, a lot. He was immediately attacked with hugs from everyone.
“Thank you so much Mrs. & Mrs. Pierce-Lopez for letting me stay here for a few days! I couldn’t stay at that house alone..”
“It’s no problem at all Rory!” Mama Brittany said as she held her wife.
They spent most of the night trying to distract Rory with movies and food but nothing seemed to work. He just looked like a part of him was missing, the family part. Sugar went over and hugged Rory and Harmony joined in.
“They’re going to be fine Rory! You’ll see!”
“You guys don’t understand. They just dropped to the ground all of the sudden! No injuries, no nothing!” Just then a ringing sound came from the garage. Someone was calling from the time machine. The trio ran to the garage computer and clicked answer.
It was Sebastian.
“SEBASTIAN!”
“What’s up sis?”
“Where the hell are you? You’ve been gone for days!”
“I just had some errands to run..”
“I can hear you smiling.”
“You sound shaken, what have I missed?”
“Rory’s dads are in the hospital, they just passed out early this morning, they’ve been unconscious ever since. No one knows what’s wrong!”
“Isn’t that interesting..”
“SEBASTIAN WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?”
“I’m sure I don’t know what you’re talking about, talk you you soon sis!”
“WAIT!…”
Sebastian hung up the phone and Sugar’s heart sank into her stomach again. She should have never let him have the keys to the time machine. Sugar looked up from her phone at Rory. He had a look of rage and sadness in his eyes.
This was all her fault.
